This is an internationally recognized diploma program for persons working, or seeking positions in the air freight industry, and is recognized worldwide by airlines, forwarders and brokers.

The "Introductory Cargo Agent Training Program" was developed as a home-study program for the air freight industry. To date, over 50,000 people worldwide have taken the two exams required to be certified.

Until now, a classroom version has only been available in Asia and Europe.

Through the efforts of Cargo Network Services (CNS), the IATA company that manages the U.S. cargo agency program, this 200 hour home study course has been condensed into a 5-day classroom training program that is available to forwarders and related companies in the U.S.

Though the number of people successfully passing the exams in the home study program has been less than 45%, the classroom version has had a 85% passing rate.

The classes are 8 hours a day with approximately 2 hours of homework each night. In addition, students are asked to prepare in advance for the class by studying the materials provided to registrants 3 weeks before the seminar.

It is recommended that students have some air freight training before attempting this program. However, some students have passed the exams with no prior experience.
